See on Scoop.it – Tech Pedagogy
Could this be a new model for the hungry learner? Tomahawk (http://www.tomahawk-player.org/) is a second generation social music site. If you follow the hashtag @uncovery you will be getting the benefit of 65 other music sites/reviewers who will direct you here to find your music through Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, exfm, soundcloud, etc. It has chat connection to twitter, GoogleTalk, and Jabber. And I feel this only scratches the surface of this jolly cool iceberg.
They call it a ‘universal translation layer across music repositories, streaming service, and geographic territories.’ That sounds like the next generation of learning to me. Instead of Spotify we might have EdX, Khan Academy, YouTube, P2PU, and the like. Reviewers could get together and tweet the value of certain videos or courses or games.
Don’t the greatest advances in one field (tech pedagogy) often are repurposed from another (music aggregation)? Take a look and see if you can see the future of education through the Tomahawk glasses.
